Vice President, New Business Development
Johnnie Studio is looking for an experienced, versatile, and excellence-driven account and new business lead to help our agency take the next step in its development. This role will have three primary responsibilities: 1) serving as the primary strategic and account lead for our newest client relationships, 2) ownership of all agency new business and RFP opportunities, and 3) serving as a fierce advocate of quality work across all owned workstreams.
This individual will be a core agency leader who will need to be able to intake new business requests, concept the appropriate response, and lead the pitch process from start to finish as a core response team member and, where appropriate, content creator. All of our agency leaders are hands-on workers, and we need a lead-from-the-front type who shares that mindset and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and thrive in the complexity of strategic and creative response details.
This individual may also have client lead responsibilities for our newest client engagements, serving as a day-to-day lead for assigned work and, when relevant, leading a team of strategists in the execution of that work.
Responsibilities—new business:
- Source and lead new business opportunities for net-new or prospective clients
- Produce and customize agency materials for net-new business responses
- Evaluate agency’s creative and strategic response to RFP requirements
- Lead presentations as core response lead
- Develop response timelines and response resourcing plans
- Serve as a versatile and experienced representative for the Johnnie brand in agency responses
Responsibilities—client service:

Executive Creative Director
The Executive Creative Director serves as the company’s senior design resource and a key member of the agency leadership team, operating as Johnnie’s primary overseer of client and internal visual creative projects. The ideal candidate will fulfill a mix of managerial, new business, and executional needs, overseeing and producing fresh, innovative work that translates complex ideas and products into clear and motivating creative strategies and visuals. The ideal candidate will also be a talent-developing manager capable of finding the right person for a project’s needs, and then guiding cross-discipline teams to the best possible outcome. This role will also include traditional company pitch work as the overall visual creative voice for the agency and is highly client-facing.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all Johnnie Studio visual creative initiatives, including work for external client accounts, internal brand marketing needs, and new business efforts
- Serve as the senior visual creative voice on all company work, seeking to elevate our approach to creative and push the boundaries on our clients’ current standards
- Operate as a key member of the agency leadership team, continually helping refine company’s strategic direction and operational approach
- Develop a deep understanding of our clients’ needs and business problems, and serve as a primary leader in solving for them
- Source, evaluate, and employ contract/freelance visual creative and design talent for appropriate project needs
- Source, evaluate, and manage full-time visual creative and design resources as they become needed
- Serve as senior visual creative and design voice on all agency new business objectives, including pitches, presentation decks, and proposal ideation
- Serve as resourcing lead for visual creative department, ensuring upcoming and current projects have the appropriate talent staffed to their requirements
- Execute as lead visual creative on select projects across our range of clientele
- Conduct brainstorming sessions with internal and external teams, maintaining strategic and creative thinking to develop innovative and actionable creative initiatives
Skills and Experience:
- 12+ years of experience in creative development for integrated content across all marketing channels. UI/UX work as part of a client, agency, or corporate setting is preferred
- Leadership of and ability to coach and develop a diverse visual creative team
- Skilled and confident presenting creative work during internal and client-facing meetings and presentations
- Well-rounded design experience, across branding, UX, media, video, and content activations
- Skilled at presenting the strategic reasoning behind the creative and articulate how creative solutions ladder back to business goals and align with strategy
- Expert knowledge of design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, PowerPoint (note PowerPoint is a critical skill for many of our B2B clients)

Senior Content Strategist
The Senior Content Strategist is responsible for overseeing and executing our clients’ individual strategic outputs, including their marketing efforts and the metrics being used to measure their success. The ideal candidate has a strong background in messaging and content strategy as well as UX strategy and integrated marketing approaches across search, media, and direct distribution.
Additionally, the Senior Content Strategist is a key client-facing individual, overseeing day-to-day client connections and meetings, presenting not only strategic deliverables, but creative deliverables as well, and managing overall client needs and expectations. This role can be performed remotely, but general availability 9–5 PST is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic lead for clients’ digital marketing efforts and strategies
- Act as a day-to-day client contact and per-project lead
- Oversee and execute content and messaging strategies and initiatives including product and service messaging frameworks, proposed content journeys, and audience considerations
- Oversee and execute UX and UI strategies and initiatives including web strategies, landing page builds and redesigns and user testing
- Development of omnichannel and integrated marketing campaigns against audience needs, including ideal media mix and appropriate content formats
- Identification of appropriate strategy success metrics, as well as the construction of the measurement frameworks needed to assess them
- Along with editorial and design, ensure alignment of all content assets to respective client strategies and audience considerations
- Attend all client download/strategy sessions to consistently strive for alignment and serve as a strategic voice
- Provide creative team members the essential information they need to create exceptional work
- Remain embedded with the design and editorial teams to ensure projects hold true to strategy from start to finish
- Regular gathering of data/assessment of current client asset performance to uncover opportunities to advance all KPIs
Qualities we’re searching for:

Senior Project Manager
This role will execute the daily project management needs for their assigned client(s), including scoping, scheduling, work tracking, and client communications. The primary method of tracking and managing projects will be Workamajig project management software (or similar cloud-based tool). This individual will also be tasked with leading project status meetings and following up on individual projects via platforms like Slack, email, and 1:1 conversations in an ongoing effort to keep all trains running on time. This position is the central source of truth and organization in a team that runs on collaborative energy and shared understanding of each project’s KPIs, which makes this person essential in the team’s success. Successful senior project managers keep all lines of team communication open and flowing during work hours while assisting in the managing of the agency’s resource model to remove any blockers that might put a timeline or deliverable at risk.
Projects involve a variety of deliverables including but not limited to: email, web design wireframes & full renders, web editorial content including keywords and SEO documentation, video assets, audio assets, social posts, and presentations in PPT. This role can be performed remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of the project management software project instances, including task and time estimate tracking in strict adherence with studio guidelines and standards
- Project scoping, scheduling, and work tracking
- Tracking of studio work capacity and workload measures, flagging issues and helping to solve
- Document management, including scopes, work backs, and client/studio briefs
- High-level management and work tracking of various JS contract resources
- Real-time collaborative communications with client stakeholders
- Project file delivery (in collaboration with our production team who preps and packages assets for delivery before any send)
- Thorough note-taking and detailed meeting follow-up messaging that clearly calls out action items, deadlines, roles, and responsibilities
Qualities we’re searching for:
- Exceptional and empathetic communication skills and ability to work well within a team of diverse voices, experience, and expertise
- Familiarity with work management platforms, e.g. JIRA, Workamajig, Basecamp, etc.
